Los Angeles's breakfast queen, Jessica Koslow of Sqirl, will be in town this weekend to promote her first cookbook, Everything I Want to Eat, and will be doing a little more than just signing books. She's got two new restaurants in the works in L.A.—a takeaway spot called Sqirl Away and a Middle Eastern restaurant—but until the chef decides to open up a Chicago location (please!), we'll just have to grab her homemade jams and toast while she's in town. And if you happen to be planning a trip to L.A., the chef told us a few of her favorite spots to hit up while you're in town.

On Monday, October 17, Koslow will be at Lula Café from 6–9pm to sign copies of her new book. The event is $95 (get your tickets here) and includes a copy of Everything I Want to Eat, three or four stationed appetizers, three or four passed dishes, a mini omelet station, Marz beers, Letherbee gin cocktails and music from DJ Ben Fasman.

If brunch is ore your speed, head to the Publican on Sunday, October 16. Koslow will be doing a brunch takeover, with variations on the Publican's brunch fare (like red wine poached eggs and pork schnitzel) alongside Koslow's signature ricotta toast made with brioche from Publican Quality Bread. Walk-ins are accepted but reservations are recommended.
