It's time to vote on a name for Shedd Aquarium's sea otter pup

It has been almost a month since we met the Shedd Aquarium's newest resident: A five week old orphaned sea otter pup who was rescued from the central California coast. Throughout November, we gathered around laptops to watch adorable videos in which the tiny pup swam in her private pool, drank formula from a bottle and ate snacks off of her belly.

We've all had fun watching "Pup 681" be nursed back to health, but now the Shedd wants to give the otter a proper name. This morning, the aquarium teamed up with Good Morning America to present an online poll which will determine the pup's new name. Voters can choose from five different options (Cali, Ellie, Luna, Poppy or Anya), all of which were inspired by the location where the otter was rescued. You can vote here through December 11 and then wait for the winning name to be revealed on December 12.

Personally, we're fans of the names Ellie, Luna or Anya (Cali is bit on the nose and Poppy just reminds us of our grandfathers), but the naming of the pup is really just a formality—we're still going to refer to it as "that cute baby otter."
