If you didn't snag a ticket to this year's Lollapalooza, there are a bunch of bands that you'll be missing out on seeing this summer. Luckily, a slate of newly announced aftershows makes it possible to check out some of festival's lineup without paying hundred of dollars for entry into Grant Park. Hell, even if you are going the Lolla, seeing a band indoors at an aftershow can often be a better experience than seeing them under the beating sun (or in the pouring rain). It's also a way to avoid missing a band due to a dreaded scheduling conflict.
This year, some of the best shows occur before the festival's gates even open, with performances by The War on Drugs, Hot Chip, Alt-J and Sylvan Esso on Thursday night. Other notable aftershows include Django Django at Thalia Hall (Jul 31), TV on the Radio at the Vic (Aug 1) and The Kills at Metro (Aug 2).
