Following in the footsteps of neighbors Off Color Brewing, prolific craft beer creators Pipeworks Brewing are preparing to open a new bottle shop in their existing Logan Square brewery at 3912 W McLean Avenue. According to the Chicago Tribune, the shop will open on December 29 and will offer eight taps for growler fills and a selection of the brewery's many canned and bottled offerings—Pipeworks releases two new beers in 22-ounce bottles each week, so the selection will change regularly.

While you won't be able to consume beer in Pipeworks’ bottle shop, you will be able to purchase the latest (and freshest) cans and bottles, as well as some exclusive brews. According to the Tribune, the shop's tap system will focus on one-off brews, test batches and other more experimental selections that will only be available on draft—visitors will be able to start taking advantage of growler fills sometime in spring of 2017.

The opening of the Pipeworks Brewing bottle shop seems primed to make the southwest corner of Logan Square a mecca for craft beer nerds, who already flock to Off Color's bottle shop that opened earlier this year. Pipeworks co-founder Gerrit Lewis told the Tribune that the neighboring breweries are planning to offer joint tours of their respective facilities sometime in 2017, which should tempt even more beer aficionados to make the trip, egged on by the promise of freshly canned Ninja Vs. Unicorn IPA.
