The best places to watch the World Series that aren’t sports bars

Game one of the Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Indians World Series will be broadcast on every TV in Chicago tonight at 7pm. Most Chicagoans have never seen our Cubbies make it this far in postseason baseball, so we’ve got to watch every second of it to make sure it’s really happening. There are tons of great bar and restaurant specials happening across the city, and of course, no sports bar on the North Side is going Cubs-free tonight. But we found a few spots across the city broadcasting the World Series that won’t have sticky floors and the lingering scent of Old Style.

Metro Chicago

If you dare venture to the heart of Wrigleyville, Metro Chicago is hosting a 93XRT pre-game party and screening the entire game. There will be great live music from Robbie Fulks, Mr. Blotto and Lydia Loveless during the pre-game. No cover charge, and you’ll be right at the epicenter of Cubsland.

Logan Theater

Logan Square’s iconic independent movie theater is screening the full World Series. Tickets are complimentary, but space is limited, so secure your reservation here. Grab a cocktail in the movie theater bar, or stay classic with a popcorn and a Coke.

Fountainhead

Okay, technically this one’s a bar, but Fountainhead is combining its annual Punk’n Party with World Series viewing. Indulge in great beer and food specials, pumpkin carving, punk music and the best Cubs team we’ve had in decades. We’re so spoiled.

Mariano’s

You wouldn’t think of a grocery store as the first place to watch a baseball game, but the whole city is consumed with Cubs fever this month. Mariano’s is offering up $2 Budweisers and Bud Lights and screening the game at all of its Chicago locations, so grab your groceries and then kick back with the Cubbies.

Brew & View at the Vic

What’s better than watching the Cubs in the World Series? Watching them on the big screen. Head to the Vic in Lakeview to watch Rizzo, Baez, Bryant and the boys do what they do best.

Saint Lou’s Assembly

The increasingly popular West Loop bar is showing every World Series game on an 18-foot projector on their delightful patio. It may be chilly out, but Saint Lou's has an outdoor fire pit and $3 Veltins drafts to keep you nice and warm. Plus, free soft serve if the Cubs win!
