1. Rock on

Relive your teenage years with Weezer and Panic! At the Disco, who will perform at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on Sunday. Expect to hear some some of your favorite Pinkerton jams as well as some new stuff. (Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, 19100 S Ridgeland Ave, Sun 7pm. $18–$88)

2. Head to one of the best fests

This weekend West Fest kicks off on the hip Chicago Avenue corridor. This year's music lineup includes Bully, Luna and Cloud Nothings and there will be plenty of West Town food vendors to keep you going through the day. (Chicago Ave between Damen and Wood St, Fri 5pm, Sat–Sun 12pm. $5)

3. Have some funky fun

New Belgium Brewing brings its iconic celebrations of bikes, beer and carnival acts to Palmer Square for another year. Watch the costumed bike parade through Logan Square and Humboldt Park and then keep the party going with circus performers and live music from Mucca Pazza and Dr. Dog. (Palmer Square Park, 3100 W Palmer Blvd, Sat 10am. Free)

4. Hear some Latin music

Ruido Fest is one of the only summer music festivals that specializes in Latin American rock en español, pop and electro. Headliners include Argentinian ska band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Chilean rockers La Ley and Mexico City pop rock outfit Maldita Vecindad. (Addams/Medill Park 1301 W 14th St, Fri 3pm, Sat–Sun 12pm. $130 –$170 weekend pass, $290 VIP)

5. Get down to the root

Another festival this weekend, Square Roots, is celebrating alt-country and Americana music in Lincoln Square. Attendees will be able to take in sets from more than 70 bands, including Lydia Loveless and Cracker, which will be spread across two indoor stages and two outdoor stages. (Lincoln Square, 4700 N Lincoln Ave, Fri 5pm, Sat–Sun 12pm. $10 suggested donation)
