The Long Room, one of the best beer bars in the city, hasn't had a food program in the 15 years it's been open. That changes this week, when Sidecar at LR opens in the space next door, which was previously office space for the bar. There will be two different concepts happening here: Biscuit Man for breakfast and lunch and Beard and Belly for dinner and late night.

Biscuit Man is chef Zeeshan Shah, who will be serving biscuit sandwiches and muffins for breakfast, and rice bowls and naanwiches for lunch. Shah, who says that he's "always been a fan of brunch and breakfast," has also worked at Hopleaf, the Bristol, Old Town Social and other spots around Chicago. Shah is also one half of Bombay Breakdown with Yoshi Yamada, and the two do Indian pop-up dinners and sell rice bowls at the Logan Square Farmers Market, which inspired his lunch menu.

Beard and Belly are Kyle Schrage and Jim Torres, who will be serving food like diner-style burgers, chili, poutine and grilled cheese. The two previously did pop-up events and both worked at the Fountainhead, as well as other restaurants and bars around the area.

In addition to food, Counter Culture coffee will be served at the bar area starting at 7am Monday-Saturday. Sidecar will be serving food from the counter inside the bar along the left wall.

Sidecar will be open for breakfast from 7-10am Monday-Friday. Lunch is served from 12-3pm Monday-Friday and from 11am-3pm on Saturdays. Dinner is served from 5-10pm on Monday, 5pm-midnight Tuesday-Thursday and 5pm-1am Saturday.
