This weekend Ferris Fest kicks off in suburban Lake Forest and Northbrook, the home of the characters in John Hughes's classic film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Festivities include a 1986-themed dance, visits to filming locations and a special screening of the movies at the John & Nancy Hughes Theater. However, one of the event's most anticipated attractions will be taking up residence in the Loop.

Organizers of the event previously announced that Ferris Fest attendees would be able to visit a painstaking re-creation of Ferris Bueller’s bedroom. Now, they've revealed that the bedroom will be hosted by Virgin Hotels Chicago and will be accessible even without a ticket to the festival. Admission to the bedroom, which will be on view from 9am to 5pm on May 20, 21 and 22, is $10 and can be purchased from the Ferris Fest website.

Virgin Hotels Chicago's will also be celebrating Ferris Bueller's Day Off with a free screening of the movie during the monthly Acquired Taste movie night in the 25th floor lounge. The hotel's restaurant, Miss Ricky's, will serve a special Ferris-themed menu between May 20 and 22, including the Sausage King of Chicago Roll (a banger wrapped in stuffed pastry, with curry sauce and giardiniera aioli) and Buckledown Brewing Co.'s Ferris Bueller Beer.

Life may seem as if it's moving a bit faster as summer approaches, but dedicated Ferris Bueller fans shouldn't let this opportunity pass them by.
