At this point, February might as well be known as "Free Museum Admission Month." Not only is the Field Museum free to Illinois residents throughout the month of February, but now the rest of Museum Campus is getting in on the gratis fun in honor of Presidents' Day. On Monday, February 15, Illinois residents will be able to take advantage of free general admission at the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium. Hypothetically, you could begin the day by viewing ancient Egyptian artifacts, observe tropical fish in the afternoon and then end your day learning about stars—all without spending a single cent.

Each museum will also offer discounts on ticket upgrades, so you can enjoy extras like 3D movie screenings and special exhibit access. Don't forget to pack your Illinois driver's license, lease, library card, student ID, utility bill, check stub or passport with an Illinois address. And remember: There are always more free museum days on the calendar.
