Time Out says

Born in Alabama where he was raised listening to the Grand Ole Opry, Jason Isbell came to prominence as a member of country rock act the Drive-By Truckers. Since leaving the group, Isbell has become a prolific Americana troubadour, writing songs that reckon with his Southern heritage and his struggles with addiction (he also wrote the track "Maybe It's Time" performed by Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born). On The Nashville Sound, his latest album with his longtime backing band the 400 Unit, Isbell sticks to what he knows best, conjuring up rootsy melodies overseen by world-weary lyricism. Father John Misty opens this Northerly Island show—and he'll definitely play "Mr. Tillman," which includes a reference to his tourmate Isbell.
