Nick Carter came to prominence as a member of the Backstreet Boys before segueing into a solo career when the popular boy band went on hiatus in the early aughts. Reality television shows, an appearance on Dancing with the Stars (where he came in second place) and subsequent Backstreet reunions have kept him in the spotlight ever since, but he’s also recorded a string of solo albums. His latest, All American, is filled with pop punk anthems (one of which features Avril Lavigne) and acoustic ballads. It’s a calculated departure from the glossy pop songs that Carter is known for, but he clearly he wants it that way. The Voice contestant Riley Biederer opens the show.
