Time Out says

The soulful, horn-embellished folk-rock of Whitney's sophomore album, Forever Turned Around, wears its heart on its tattered plaid sleeve, channeling the lovelorn melodies of the Band and Neil Young. Locally-based duo Max Kakacek and Julian Ehrlich helm the group, which has become a figurehead of Chicago's music scene—earlier this year, Mayor Lori Lightfoot gave the band its own holiday (accompanied by events at various hipster-approved Logan Square and Wicker Park haunts) in celebration of its record release. Whitney returns to Thalia Hall for its annual string of December shows at the Pilsen venue, joined by an array of local acts, including Akenya, the Hecks, Jeff Parker, Slow Pulp and Hoops.
