Last summer, the Original Rainbow Cone debuted its own ice cream truck, a polka-dotted vehicle that serves the ice cream shop's iconic five flavor cone (layered with chocolate, strawberry, Palmer house, pistachio and orange sherbet) throughout the suburbs. The shop later expanded its fleet to five trucks, each named for one of the cone's flavors, that popped up in different towns in Chicagoland—but none have made their way into Chicago proper yet, leaving city dwellers to grab scoops from brick-and-mortar locations in Beverly and Navy Pier, or make the journey to the newest location in Lombard

That will change beginning on June 30, when one of the shop's trucks (called "Chocolate") will set up shop outside the Shedd Aquarium's western entrance at Museum Campus for a summer residency, marking the Rainbow Cone truck's first foray into the city. There, visitors will be able to pick up cones, pints and candy-colored merch from the truck before enjoying the sweets on the Museum Campus' grassy expanses. For best results, we recommend finding a spot with a prime view of Lake Michigan to gaze at while you eat.

The Original Rainbow Cone truck is open daily at Museum Campus (1200 S Lake Shore Drive) from 11am–6pm this summer. Want to track the rest of Rainbow Cone's fleet? Use the shop's truck finder to keep tabs on all of the rolling ice cream shops.
