Ramen is one of the most undeniably comforting dishes on the planet—what with its belly-warming broth, toothsome noodles, tender hunks of pork and molten eggs. And right about now, we could all use an extra serving of comfort. One of the city's most exclusive and elusive ramen bars is happy to oblige: Starting today, High Five Ramen is available for curbside pickup and delivery.

The 16-seat counter that's situated below Green Street Smoked Meats in the West Loop specializes in super-spicy, super-smoky bowls of the good stuff. And because it's such a small operation, it's usually damn near impossible to get a seat. Fans can find the slurpable signature tonkatsu bowl on Green Street Smoked Meat's menu on DoorDash, Caviar and Grubhub.

Priced just under $15, the dish is loaded with sliced pork belly, curly noodles, a seasoned egg, black garlic oil, bean sprouts and scallions—all swimming in a deeply savory pork-miso broth. Diners must pick their spice level (none, 1/4, 1/2 or full), and it's worth noting that the kitchen crew here doesn't mess around when it comes to heat. If you go full, expect to have your taste buds blown away to another planet (maybe you're into that sort of thing).

You can also toss in individual servings of sake for $5.75–$7 as well as cans of Asahi Super Dry and Sapporo Premium ($3 each). Trust us, you're going to need something to wash down the spice. In addition to tipping your driver, consider donating to Hogsalt's emergency employee relief fund, which is listed as a menu item on all three delivery sites.
