The Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Illinois, is rolling out a dynamic 2026–27 Broadway Series lineup that promises something for every kind of theater lover, marking a milestone 15th season for one of the region’s most beloved live-performance destinations.

The four-show slate includes a mix of crowd-pleasing musicals, seasonal storytelling and classic theater that underscores Paramount’s reputation for curating work that appeals to families, longtime musical fans and those eager for fresh interpretations of familiar stories.

The season kicks off on August 26, with the Chicago-area premiere of Mean Girls, the tuneful and sharply funny adaptation of Tina Fey’s cult teen comedy about cliques, popularity and social politics in high school. The production runs through October 11 and is directed by Devon Hayakawa.

Following Mean Girls, Paramount presents a new, all-ages production of A Christmas Carol from November 11 to January 3, 2027. This fresh take on Charles Dickens’ timeless holiday tale is adapted and directed by Trent Stork and will be an ideal seasonal offering for families and anyone looking to make live theater part of their holiday tradition.

In early 2027, the series continues with Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, the Pulitzer- and Tony Award–winning musical inspired by Georges Seurat’s iconic painting. Running February 10 through March 28, this thoughtful piece explores the intersections of art, legacy and human connection, most recently seen on Broadway starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford.

To close the Broadway Series, the theater will stage Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from April 28 to June 13, 2027. This beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical brings exuberant storytelling and memorable songs to the stage, capped with bright visuals and infectious energy that make it a perennial favorite.

Paramount’s subscription model retains its long-running “buy two shows, get two free” offer with packages starting at accessible price points, ensuring that theatergoers can experience the full arc of the season without breaking the bank. Season subscriptions go on sale January 26, with single tickets going on sale in mid-June. The mix of regional premieres, fresh adaptations and classics signals a season that’s both crowd-friendly and creatively ambitious, reinforcing Paramount’s role as a destination for high-quality live entertainment just outside Chicago.
