Most of Chicago's regular summer events have been canceled this year, but there's one tradition that seems to work in the age of social distancing. Chicago's fan-favorite Movies in the Parks series forges ahead with an abbreviated lineup and plenty of precaution.

Last night, the Chicago Park District announced that the family-friendly programming would go on this summer, featuring a total of 45 screenings in parks throughout the city. Residents will be able to catch a mix of beloved favorites and new, kid-approved hits—Aladdin (2019), Frozen II and The Lion King (2019) dominate the schedule.

In accordance with guidelines for Phase 4 of Chicago's reopening plan, there will be a capacity limit of no more than 100 people allowed at each screening. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, and there will be designated entry and exit points set up at each park, all of which will be equipped with hand sanitizer. It's worth noting that public restrooms will be closed, so take care of business before hunkering down. Like always, admission is free, but don't expect complimentary popcorn this year—you'll have to pack your own snacks before heading out the door.

Take a look at the full lineup of Movies in the Park for 2020, and start stocking up on your favorite movie theater snacks.
