Nothing says "summer in Chicago" quite like watching music under the beating sun while being drenched with buckets of neon green slime. At least that's the connection that Nickelodeon is hoping to forge when it brings its SlimeFest music festival to the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on June 9 and 10. The two-day fest is a kid-friendly, family-focused event that will combine performances from pop musicians with appearances by the stars of Nickelodeon TV shows. Did we mention that you'll also be able to get covered in slime?

If you show up to SlimeFest, you'll be able to catch sets from One Direction singer-songwriter Liam Payne, "Low" rapper Flo Rida and EDM producer Zedd. When they're not enjoying the music, attendees will have the chance to meet stars of their favorite Nickelodeon shows, including Kel Mitchell (Kenan & Kel, Game Shakers), Ella Anderson (Henry Danger), Riele Downs (Henry Danger), Breanna Yde (School of Rock) and Owen Joyner (Knight Squad). Naturally, there will also be an activity area stocked with games and experiences for the kids, including the opportunity to get soaked with thick, green goo (maybe bring a raincoat).

Tickets for the inaugural Nickelodeon SlimeFest in Chicago go on sale Tuesday, March 6 at 10am via the festival's website. You'll be able to score one-day general admission tickets for $49.50 each or upgrade to VIP tickets for $150 per day.
