1. Raise a glass to the start of Illinois Craft Beer Week, which kicks off today with Beer Under Glass at Garfield Park Conservatory. That event, where guests can sample brews from 100 or more area breweries, begins at 6pm and tickets are $60.

2. Lovers of anime, manga and other Japanese pop culture will descend upon Rosemont this weekend for the three-day Anime Central convention. The gathering centers on the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, and passes are $45 for the day or $70 for the full weekend.

3. Consummate ’80s duo Daryl Hall and John Oates may insist that you remember their first names these days, but you can still expect them to play all the Hall & Oates hits when they play the United Center tonight. The band Train, whose songs occupy a magical space between non sequiturs and dad jokes, opens. Tickets are available starting at $35 for the 7pm show.

For more events, check in with Time Out throughout the day.
