1. The Music Box Theatre's tribute to Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki winds down with a screening of Ponyo, his 2008 film about a magical goldfish. The movie begins at 4:45pm and tickets are $11.

2. Support local food pantries at the Hideout's weekly Soup and Bread event, a pay-what-you-want meal that will fill your belly and warm your heart. Dinner is served at 5:30pm and admission is free with a donation.

3. Evanston scientist Hunter Cole photographs bioluminescent bacteria in a new exhibition called "Living Light," which opens today at Arc Gallery in Bucktown. Admission is free and gallery hours are noon to 6pm.
