1. See the intimate, Tony Award–winning musical Once, based on the equally gentle Irish indie film about a pair of Dublin folk musicians’ whirlwind not-quite-romance. It’s now playing at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora; performances today are at 1 and 5:30pm, and tickets start at $36.

2. While we keep waiting for Pipeworks Brewing Co. to open its own taproom, you can get the next best thing at Recurring Pipedream, the brewery’s temporary takeover at Emporium Popups. Hoist a Ninja vs. Unicorn Double IPA or a rarer variant between now and May 20; hours today are noon to 2am.

3. The Light Fantastic is the latest from prolific pop playwright Ike Holter. Now in previews, it’s a horror-tinged dramedy about a family facing off against “forces that are far from human.” Jackalope Theatre Company stages the premiere; today’s performance is at 3pm, and tickets are $10.
