1. Former Pixies bassist Kim Deal revives her punchy alt-rock act the Breeders for a set at the Vic tonight. The 18-and-over event begins at 8pm and tickets are still on sale for $35–$45.

2. Debuting today at the Smart Museum of Art in Hyde Park, “The Painting That is Painted With Poetry is Profoundly Beautiful” explores the work of self-taught Thai painter Tang Chang, who used calligraphy to create expressive works. The museum is open today from 10am to 5pm and admission is always free.

3. Catch Jesus Christ Superstar at the Lyric Opera to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock-opera take on the final days of its namesake subject. Tonight's show starts at 7pm and tickets are still available for $49–$145.
