Working from home has its perks (easy access to the fridge and no commute, to name a few), but if you live in a cramped apartment with roommates, it can often feel like the walls are caving in. Some of the best hotels in Chicago have come up with an appealing but splurgy loophole: They're renting out their rooms as private offices for the day.

Take a look at five area hotels that are offering special weekday rates targeted at 9-to-5ers—from the trendy West Loop Ace Hotel to the chic LondonHouse in the Loop. The best part? These rooms come equipped with comfy beds for a midday snooze.

Ace Hotel ($75–$125)

Swap your home office for the sleek environs of the Ace Hotel, where you can set up shop for half a day (8am–1pm, $75) or a full day (8am–5pm, $125) amid minimalist furniture—including a king-sized bed—and skyline views. Your temporary workspace comes stocked with Wi-Fi and water, plus vouchers for Stumptown coffee (to keep you fueled throughout the day) and cocktails (to help you wind down after hours).

LondonHouse Chicago ($85)

This River North hotel is famous for its swanky rooftop bar, but the rooms below certainly don't disappoint, either—settle in for the day with Wi-Fi and a comfy desk set-up. Need a break? Swing by the fitness room for a spin on one of the hotel's Peloton bikes. Call 312-357-1200 to book.

Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago ($99)

Reserve a private room for a day via Blu workspace, available Monday–Thursday from 8am to 5pm at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel downtown. Complimentary Wi-Fi ensures productivity, but we recommend clearing your mind with a midday stroll through Millennium Park, which happens to be located right down the street.

Kimpton Hotel Allegro ($89–$199)

You don't have to sacrifice the convenience of your home office with the Kimpton Hotel Allegro's Business w/o the Baggage package, which furnishes guests with a computer monitor, in-room Keurig and a lunchbox full of snacks and water. Bonus: You'll get to bring back keepsakes—including a hotel notebook, hand sanitizer, pen and a coffee mug—to deck out your desk at home.

Thompson Chicago (contact for rates)

Head to the Gold Coast for discounted daytime hotel rates at Thompson Chicago, where you'll find in-room Wi-Fi and complimentary printing for all your workday needs. Whet your appetite with a discounted lunch of Italian-style seafood from Nico Osteria, or burn off some steam at the hotel's Peloton-stocked fitness room. Working late? Extend the stay overnight for an additional $50.
