Jimmy's Pizza Cafe just landed on a new ranking of the country's best slice shops, putting a Chicago favorite alongside some of America's most celebrated pizza counters.

Chicago and pizza have a complicated relationship.
On one side, you've got deep-dish loyalists. On the other, you have the growing crowd of thin-crust devotees. But regardless of which camp you fall into, Chicago just earned a fresh slice of pizza bragging rights.
The newly released 50 Top Pizza Slice USA 2026 ranking—part of the influential 50 Top Pizza guide—has named Jimmy's Pizza Cafe among the 15 best pizza slice shops in America. The beloved North Side pizzeria landed at No. 13 on the national list, putting it alongside some of the country's most celebrated slice counters.
The annual ranking focuses specifically on slice shops rather than full-service pizzerias, highlighting destinations where a single foldable slice feels just as impressive as a whole pie. Topping this year's list is New York's L'Industrie Pizzeria, followed by Slice & Pie in Washington, D.C. and Miami Slice in Florida.
For Chicago pizza fans, Jimmy's inclusion won’t be surprising. The restaurant has built a devoted following for its New York-style slices, serving oversized pies with crisp crusts.
Chicago's presence wasn't limited to the slice rankings, though. The city also landed two restaurants in the broader 50 Top Pizza USA 2026 list of the nation's best pizzerias. Robert's earned a tie for eighth place nationally, while Coda di Volpe appeared at No. 43.
Whether you're a deep-dish diehard, a tavern-style evangelist or someone who just wants a great slice without a debate, Chicago now has another nationally recognized destination worth adding to the rotation.
