Housed in the former Checker Taxi building, El Che Bar is Chef John Manion’s Argentine-American restaurant, a love letter to his time traveling throughout the country. Locally sourced vegetables, grilled meats, and whole seafood are cooked on custom-built grills and chapas in an open hearth. Menu standouts include herbed Parisian gnocchi with mushroom stroganoff, swiss chard, charred rosemary vinaigrette, shaved parmesan and hazelnuts, the spiced quail with jalapeno and coriander salsa verde, saffron cous cous, dried apricots and pomegranate. The beverage program centers on spirits of the Americas and the dessert offerings trades in your average chocolate lava cake for the playful flavors of fire cakes, melting pionono and smoking affogato.

Wish I would have had a drink but I just had a booze-less dinner so the waiter was pretty hands-off. The lamb ribs are amazing, same with the baked oysters that are plated so gorgeous! ChimIchurri that the focaccia was served with was far better/fresher than the focaccia that tasted reheated..more than once. Could just be me used to Italian focaccia but overall it was a great experience and I am glad I finally checked it out.

Great little bar/restaurant.

Service was spot on...because most of the staff was from charlie trotters.

Spiced coconut sour...wow.  Love.  A hint of fall mixed with tartness and mellow coconut.  Loved it.

Beets were good...just wished there was a little more dairy with the dish

Gnocchi heavenly sauce and slightly mealy texture on the gnocchi

Dada was cooked to perfection and the flavors of the meat were fantastic

Creamed kale was excellent.  Buttery and rich in the decadent cream sauce.

Great little space!

I came in here within its first couple weeks of opening, so they were definitely still working out some kinks in their restaurant. We waited quite a while for our drinks and food, but it was quite good. I loved the ambiance. Their menu has quite a bit of meat, so it's not that great if you're a pescatarian like I am. However, it was still worth the trip.
