The large crowd at the counter of this bare-bones Indo-Pak spot seems chaotic, but the diners are really just waiting for their postmeal chai. So push your way through, and order a bowl of delicious dal, loaded with bay leaves and chili peppers. Ask for the chili chicken and spoon the greasy, delicious, fiery red chunks onto the dense paratha bread. No matter what you order, you’ll get your money’s worth; most things here cost only about four bucks.

If the parking lot is full of native Indian and Pakistani cab drivers, you know the food is gonna impress. While this is certainly not the most glamorous joint in the world, get takeout, because the food will blow your mind. As will the prices. You can easily feed a family of 4 for $15. Try their delectable biryanis, frontier chicken, spicy curries, and make sure to get a side of raita to sop up the spice. I wish I came up to this part of the city more often so I could eat here more. Arguably the best Indian food in the city, definitely the best bargain in the city for any type of food.
