The old school vibe at this corner shop isn’t manufactured—the Graziano family has been doing its thing here since 1937. While it’s hard to go wrong with any of their sandwiches, the Mr. G ($9.25)—prosciutto, salami and sopressata, with biting aged provolone and marinated artichokes tucked into crackly-crisp bread anointed with hot oil and truffle mustard vinaigrette—claims house specialty status for a reason.

We love this small family-owned business. They are such lovely people and they offer great fresh sandwiches that is great any time of the day. The owners come around to ask how you are doing and how everything is so they are very attentive to your time and business. We are frequent visitors. They also have a Rewards Program where you can get a free sandwich after buying 10!

So old school, its amazing. I am Italian and grew up with the feeling and the smells that surround you in this place. Fresh, crusty, yet soft Italian rolls. Fresh sliced mortadella, and prosciutto, sopresatta, capicola, you name it. Their Italian sub is the go-to special for the americans, but if you want to feel like an italian, get the Prosciutto with everything minus the tomato (it makes it too watery in my opinion.) The fresh basil leaves add so much to it. Oh! And get their rewards card too. Buy 10 subs and get 1 free. You will be going back for more, trust me.

The menu is quite extensive here, and each sandwich is crafted beautifully. I definitely plan on going back to try many more of the sandwiches here. The giardiniera isn't quite hot enough for my liking, but it doesn't cover up the other flavors of the sandwich.

Graziano has the best subs in Chicago. The Italian, American, Turkey and Mr. G are all delicious in their own way. You can't go wrong with any of them and if you want some heat add some of their own giardinera. The hot is just hot enough without overpowering the sandwich.

I recommend letting the sandwich sit for awhile before eating so all the flavors can marry up.
