Shaws Crab House

There’s nothing wrong with splurging on lobster or king crab and wanting to enjoy it in this institution’s formal dining room. We just prefer the freedom of getting down and dirty in the adjacent bar, where we can slurp fresh oysters , crack open crab claws and dunk our lobster tail in copious amounts of butter—all without earning a sideways glance from a stiff in a suit. The quality remains just as high (it’s all coming from the same kitchen), and there’s no pressure to splurge on wine. (All the better because we like to wash down our seafood with beer anyhow.)

Lettuce Entertain You is always so great about ambiance and transporting its guests to a different place, which is exactly what Shaw's does the moment you walk in. It's 1945, you're suddenly your grandpa and you are paying with your diner's club credit card. Awesome memorabilia all over the place and the waiters are still in that stuffy black and white uniform which is out of place in most places today but not at Shaw's. It's delish, seafood is always expensive but it is a little more expensive than I think necessary, probably due to location. Some of my favorite things, the crab cake caesar and lobster bites. Less impressing, the lobster roll. Not worth the price.

Divine food. Delicious crab and lobster cakes. Sophisticated atmosphere. Excellent service. It has always been a delightful experience to all my senses!

This is one of the few places outside of New England where I will order lobster. Nuff said.

This past Saturday, I was able to attend a birthday celebration for a dear friend whom I met through social media. She chose Shaw's Crab Shack as her destination, and I was excited about it: firstly, because I'm a HUGE seafood fan, and secondly, because I had never been to Shaw's and I love new food experiences. Once I arrived, I knew that my dining experience would be supreme and sublime: and it was both, and then some.

While some may find the buffet price a bit high (it's $55/person), I'd like to say it's well worth the price. Between fresh seafood and made-to-order omelettes, this restaurant offers the mother load of buffet options; and each option is more delicious than the next. French-fried shrimp, crab legs, fresh sushi, french toast, hash browns, prime rib, made-to-order delicacies, mini crab cakes, an entire table of cavity-causing sweets, and THE BEST tasting bacon in the world......and I haven't eaten bacon in over 10 years.

The ambiance was very warm and friendly; the red upholstery and soft gold lighting made for a very relaxing and intimate setting. The servers were top-notch at their job: waiting and willing to do your hunger bidding with smile on their faces all the while.

Highly recommended for the foodie.......highly recommended for a celebration..............highly recommended in general if you'd like to partake in a wonderful brunch buffet on a Sunday.
