Temperatures at North Avenue Beach may have hovered in the 50s yesterday, but that didn't make jumping into Lake Michigan any more desirable. Thousands of participants showed up at the Chicago beach for the 2016 Polar Plunge, an annual event that raises money for the Chicago chapter of Special Olympics. Just like last year, Lady Gaga showed up to take the plunge with her fiancé, Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney. Today Show weatherman Al Roker also got in the frigid water, while Mayor Rahm Emanuel watched for the sidelines.
