Shopping carts hit the streets for Chiditarod X
Teams of costumed competitors pushing shopping carts filled with food donations raced through the streets of Wicker Park this weekend during Chiditarod X
The 10th annual Chiditarod shopping cart race hit the streets of Chicago on Saturday afternoon in support of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Runners were dressed up in some pretty fantastic constumes, ranging from the Super Mario Bros. to the sharks from Katy Perry's Super Bowl halftime show.
With temperatures in the 40s, it was far from the conditions of Alaska's Iditarod, and much warmer than this year's Polar Plunge. After a miserable winter, no one was complaining about the lack of authenticity.
