The Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade capped off a week of celebrations, February 14, 2016.
You don't exactly need an excuse to visit Chinatown—it's one of the greatest places to experience Chinese culture in Chicago, including some of the city's best Chinese restaurants. However, one of the best reasons to make the trip is for the Chinese Lunar New Year Parade, which brings drummers, music and giant dragons to the neighborhood's streets. This year, the celebration fell on Valentine's Day, so the mood was extra festive. Start the Year of the Monkey off on a high note with our gallery of photos from the procession.
