32nd Croatian Jazz Festival kicks off tomorrow

Running May 18-20 at Tvornica kulture in Zagreb, the festival attracts some of the best talent from Croatia and the region

Smooth tones, experimentation and improvisation fills Zagreb's Tvornica kulture music hall this week as part of the 32nd Croatian Jazz Festival. Running since 1991, it brings together the established and up-and-coming names in the Croatian and former Yugoslav jazz world. 

This year's starts on Thursday, May 18 and runs for three nights in total.

Acts range from the Serbian RTS jazz orchestra to the respected Slovenian sax group ANORAK previewing their new album, plus American piano virtuoso Joe Kaplowitz. The festival is on the south-east European jazz circuit, showcasing the breadth of talent across the region in one of the most lively and original music genres.
