Zagreb’s favourite getaway, the pretty slopes of Sljeme, will be hosting the Mountain Summer Film Festival between July 13-17. Visitors can look forward to five days of outdoor cinema on the big screen, live DJs, workshops for all ages, plus plenty of food and drink. Everything takes place on the meadow outside the Hotel Snježna Kraljica.

DJ SyMart and Ivor Sax start proceedings with live music at 6pm on Wednesday, July 13, along with a digital nomad meet-up. The next day sees DJ Mirzaisfab at 6pm, and an Art Bottega Paint & Wine event at 7pm. Films start on Friday, prefaced by live music from Stanko Bondža at 6pm before the recent hit movie Death on the Nile at 9pm.

Saturday starts at 10am with an art workshop by Omart, continuing at noon with an Eco workshop by Ditch Plastic Croatia, followed at 5pm by DJ UncleFunk. The day ends with the film Cruella at 9pm.

The final day, Sunday July 17, begins at 10am with the Sljeme marathon, followed by live music by Sinke Fresh at 5pm. The event closes with the movie Dr Sleep at 9pm.

You can reach the festival by car, the Sljeme cable car, the 140 bus from Mihaljevac, or by taxi or rideshare. The air on top the mountain is cool and clean but can get cold once the sun sets, so remember to bring a blanket and a sweater or jacket.
