UK actress Kate Beckinsale has made a dramatic return to the Croatian capital to continue work on her latest action thriller, Canary Black. Part of usually busy Jurišićeva, a street close to the main square, was blocked off for filming.
Directed by Pierre Morel, best known for his hugely successful movie Taken starring Liam Neeson, the film focuses on Beckinsale’s character, top CIA operative Avery Graves, in a high-stakes adventure.
Beckinsale was last seen in Zagreb in November, hanging from a drone during a freezing night’s filming.
Croatia is becoming a go-to location for major film projects. In 2022, Beckinsale’s compatriot Kate Winslet was on location in Dubrovnik, shooting a wartime drama.
