Lulu, um Pub Bonito

Just as those in charge were launching O Bar Mais Triste da Cidade, they were also opening this Lulu, um Pub Bonito (Lulu, a Beautiful Pub) in May. While the theme at O Bar Mais Triste da Cidade is melancholy, with whiskey-soaked piano nights, Lulu is a bar “for ladies, women, girls, and for everyone else who likes them”, or so it says on their Instagram. Actress Louise Brooks (Lulu) is their muse and those crazy 20s of the past, which can now be repeated, were the inspiration behind it. The signature cocktails are named after women like Jane Fonda (with rum, fig liqueur and coffee, for €9) or Cindy Lauper (rum, pineapple and stout, also for €9), but also by national singers like Ágata (muscat, orange, pineapple and sparkling wine, for €7) and a tribute to Lena d'Água (with a cocktail of arbutus, honey and basil, for €8). There are dishes such as duck & waffle, confit duck, fried quail egg and waffle, which they think would be “Louise's favourite – compulsive – dish”. The bar will also have a DJ area, which could soon become a good place to dance in the city.
