London’s most secretive bar reveals all in new book

A darkened door in Chinatown has for five years marked the way to exceptional cocktails in lavish but oh-so-secretive surroundings. But now the secret’s out. The very cool Parisian players behind Experimental Cocktail Club have launched a new book for those who want to bring the boozy experiments into their very own home.

The glossy cocktail recipe book charters the bar’s rise from a humble tipple house in Paris to a global bar brand, feeding you recipes and drop dead gorgeous booze porn pictures all the way along.

Experimental Cocktail Club

With 85 recipes in total, there’s plenty for cocktail connoisseurs to try their hand at as well as a section covering classic cocktails for those less well versed in mixology. And there’s a whole chapter dedicated to the drinks that have been brought to life in the London branch of the bar, including one of our all-time faves on the menu, the Saint Germain des Pres (gin, elderflower liqueur, elderflower cordial, lime, cucumber juice and egg white - pictured above).

Don’t fancy doing the mixing? Read our reviews of Experimental Cocktail Club and the group’s latest London bar Joyeux Bordel and then head on over - both made it onto our recent round-up of the 50 best cocktail bars in London, and with very good reason.

Experimental Cocktail Club: London. Paris. New York. Ibiza. by Romée de Goriainoff, Olivier Bon, Pierre-Charles Cros & Xavier Padovani is out now, published by Mitchell Beazley, £20.
