The Museum of the Home is partnering with award-winning performance company Nutkhut for its Diwali celebration this October. There’ll be all sorts of free, family-friendly activities on offer across the day, including Bollywood dance classes, Rangoli designing and a chance to make your own sustainable lantern for a twilight lantern parade. Indian meal delivery service DabbaDrop will be serving up comforting vegan Indian dishes and steaming hot chai, and celebrations will conclude with the switch-on of Light Up The Museum, a collection of vibrant installations that will illuminate the museum’s gardens and façade during the cold winter months. And if you can’t make it down on the day, visitors can drop into the museum throughout the half term holidays to check out the colourful decorations and see ‘The Night before Diwali...’, a room vignette showing a British South Indian front room in the midst of Diwali preparations.
