New Theme Gallery hosts photographer Ethan Pines' first solo exhibit, subtitled "Documenting the city and a new architectural typology." The local native will display his unique perspective by focusing on the significance of seemingly mundane aspects of Los Angeles (think rusting cars, mid-century homes at night and freeway overpasses), providing a more thought-provoking look at things we'd usually only glance at in a rearview mirror. Pine's collaboration with the gallery aims to "expose the unique urban syntax" of the city and promote a sustainable future for SoCal architecture. Revisit LA's eccentricity while enjoying free refreshments at the opening reception. Email darius@newtheme.net to RSVP.
