By now we've all heard what we can do to help out with California's drought crisis: take shorter showers, scale back on watering our lawns, donate to the ALS foundation instead of simply dumping a bucket of ice over your head. But you can also help out by eating a seven-course dinner. Say what? This Wednesday, September 10, Bucato will host a Flora Bella Farm benefit to raise money for the local partner farm that has been hit so hard during this drought, as well as to raise overall awareness of the drought's impact. An all-star lineup of culinary talent—Ari Taymor of Alma, Chris Jacobson of Girasol, Shannon Swindle of Craft, Travis Lett of Gjelina, and David Nayfield (formerly) of Eleven Madison Park and Fifty Seven—will pair up with Bucato chef and owner Evan Funke to create a multi-course meal featuring Flora Bella products. Diners will also be treated to champagne and a dessert course, and all proceeds will go towards Flora Bella Farm. Call 310-876-0286 to make your reservation.
