If you're mourning Hayao Miyazaki's latest retirement announcement (cross your fingers that he doesn't mean it this time—again), then head to the Nuart Theater for a midnight screening of arguably his best work, Princess Mononoke. This landmark of animation based on Japanese folklore follows the struggle between man and nature embodied in San, a girl raised by wolf-gods. The film is in its original Japanese (with English subtitles), something the Miyazaki purist should appreciate.
