Time Out says

This is an opera double feature of two one-act masterpieces written more than 200 years apart. The production comes to LA from Frankfurt Opera and the director of last year's hit staging of The Magic Flute (which totally blew our minds). Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas tells the story of Dido, a widow, who falls in love with a warrior, but a sorceress is determined to split them up. In Bluebeard's Castle, a young woman falls in love with Bluebeard, a man with a dark reputation, and marries him against her family's wishes. In his castle, she discovers seven locked doors and as she opens them one by one, the scenes grow darker and darker, and more suspenseful. It's going to be a unique night of opera—not just in the juxtaposition of the operas, but how contemporary and creative the staging will be.
