LA Phil Gala: John Williams Celebration

Nobody’s film credits can compare to John Williams: Star Wars, E.T., Indiana Jones and literally a hundred others. Like its popular Hollywood Bowl series, the LA Phil will host Williams for an evening, but this time at the Walt Disney Concert Hall as part of the orchestra’s glitzy season-opening gala. Williams himself opens the show, conducting his Second Violin Concerto with violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. For the second half, Gustavo Dudamel will lead the LA Phil in selections from the films mentioned above.
