Long Beach Funk Fest

Unlike other festivals with a little bit of everything, this Long Beach fest is purely and unapologetically funk. For the fifth year running, the town is “sustaining our future through funk” with live music from funk greats, visual art including live paintings, green vendors and dance. There’s even a special Kid’s Zone of Funkativity. Head to downtown Long Beach (at Promenade and Broadway) to listen to live DJ sets and various bands followed by night-closing fireworks leading into a headlining Shuggie Otis performance. Keep the fun going at the official after-party and funk jam session at Harvelle’s Long Beach (207 E Broadway).
