No Island Left Behind

Want to eat for a cause? Then head to Winsome for a "No Island Left Behind" fundraiset that features Puerto Rican fare, oysters and cocktails, all for $25 per person. Luke Reyes of 9th Street Ramen will be serving up some of the island's traditional bites such as alcapurrias (stuffed banana fritters) and platanos con mojo (plantains with green garlic dipping sauce). Expect other treats from Winsome's own kitchen, plus Puerto Rico-inspired cocktails from Yael Vengroff of the Spare Room, Aaron Polsky  of Harvard & Stone, Iluggy Recinos of Bestia, Kiowa Bryan of Rhum Clement and Edwin Cruz of Winsome. You'll also find live music, and of course a bit of philanthropy: each ticket includes all food, plus two cocktails, and benefits the One America Appeal, an organization dedicated to helping hurricane victims—in this case, those in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands hit by Hurricane Maria.
