The massive campus of the Museum of Latin American Art is already home to more than 1,600 works of scultpure, painting and mixed-media works from Latin American artists, but this weekend, it'll be home to art of another kind.
On Saturday, the Long Beach museum is throwing its first installment of BEERFEST, an afternoon devoted to Latin culture and craft beer—and if beer's not an artform, we don't know what is.
MOLAA tapped local beer companies Brewjería and SoCal Cerveceros to help curate the lineup, which is tailored to the event's cultural, artistic and vibrant vibe. While you're sipping tastings in your complimentary five-ounce glass, feast on some à la carte food and catch DJ sets by DJ Bien Buena (of Chulita Vinyl Club) and live performances by Afro-indigenous hip-hop dance group Earth Arrow. And, oh yeah, be sure to check out MOLAA's exhibits while you're at it.
Note: This event is 21+, with tickets at $40 for non-members and $35 for MOLAA members.
