Mexican Independence Day at Damian

Held in conjunction with the L.A. Times Food Bowl, this Arts District cocktail party will feature multiple food stations, four beverages included in the $150 ticket price and a live DJ. Menu highlights include a ceviche and raw bar by Sunset Culture's Balo Orozco, Poncho's Tlayudas and concha ice cream sandwiches made with Long Beach's Gusto Bread. Stay until midnight for a mariachi performance to honor the Mexico City tradition of El Grito—the traditional synchronized call to arms that dates back to when the country first freed itself from Spanish rule.
