Key Biscayne is only a ten-minute drive from Downtown Miami, but it feels more Key West than 305. Perhaps it’s just something that happens when you put the word “Key” in front of a town’s name but this beachy island has certainly managed to cultivate and maintain a personality all its own. What does that personality look like? Well, it’s wearing sandals, drives a very nice car and loves anything outdoors—especially if a beach is involved. That’s because Key Biscayne is known for housing some of the best Miami beaches, but that’s definitely not all this island neighborhood can show you. If you do Key Biscayne the right way, you’ll also be chowing down at some of the best waterfront restaurants in Miami while watching the sun melt into Biscayne Bay. Sounds nice, huh? Life slows down here and the Miami craziness seems to stay on the other side of the Rickenbacker Causeway. Key Biscayne is a sweet little getaway too many Miamians take for granted. Don’t make that mistake.
