Good news: While there’s zero metro and bus service this weekend, rides will be free all weekend on Montreal’s new REM line.

To mark the opening of the new Deux-Montagnes and McGill line after 6 years of construction, the new line features 14 stations which will be officially inaugurated on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Three of the stations connect to the Montreal metro system: Bonaventure (orange), McGill (green) and Édouard-Montpetit (blue).

Ironically, visitors won’t be able to take the STM metro or buses to get there due to the planned bus and metro operator strike this weekend.
