Time Out says

The "Uncanny Valley" in Helms's title comes from the name for the phenomenon of being creeped out by startlingly true-to-life depictions of the human form (like wax-museum figures), and he explores the idea here in a series of gouaches sourced from films such as Dr. Strangelove, Apocalypse Now and Dawn of the Dead. The images depict close-up features of faces, all of them male. This show inaugurates Marianne Boesky's LES space, which joins her other locations in Chelsea and the Upper East Side.
