Aleksandra Mir, The Seduction of Galileo Galilei

In this video from 2011, the artist, as she puts it, enters into a "dialogue" with the seminal 17th-century scientist. Shot at a go-kart track in Ontario, the piece documents a group of crane operators attempting to build a tower of tires as tall as it will go. Naturally, gravity intervenes and the whole thing collapses before it gets very far. Their Sisyphean labor, however, is given a lyrical if slightly comic touch, thanks to the inclusion of a classical music soundtrack.
