Time Out says

Although most Westerners probably associate contemporary Chinese art with the work coming out of the country in the past 15 years, Fu Baoshi was busy integrating a modern style with traditional Chinese figurative and landscape scenes way back in the middle of the last century. This show, co-organized with the Cleveland Museum of Art, is the artist's first retrospective outside of Asia.
